The Covenant ( 1 Samuel 18:1-3 )
Merriam-Webster defines covenant as "a word that refers to a formal, solemn, and binding
agreement or promise".
A Bible definition would be how it relates to God's relationship with humanity.
On Aug.12,1961 I made a vow, to me it was a covenant between my bride and myself to stay married until death.
I. It is a covenant of Unity
II. It is a covenant of Love.

III. It is a covenant of Fellowship.
1 Samuel 18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
1 Samuel 18:2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.
1 Samuel 18:3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
I. It is a covenant of Unity

Why should we have a covenant between us ?
John 17:21 Jesus praying in V20-21 that we may all be one,
John 15:12-15 He commands us to love one another
I John 1:5 fellowship with each other and with God
