Psalm 37:27-29

27"Depart from evil and do good; And dwell forevermore." 28"For the LORD loves
justice, and does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the
descendants of the wicked shall be cut off." 29"The righteous shall inherit the land,
and dwell in it forever."

Depart = to turn off, leave undone
Preserved = hedge about (with thorns), protected, saved
Forever = eternity, without end

It's not enough to abstain from doing wrong, we must also actively do good. Sometimes we can be doing a good thing, but it is not the right thing. We have to follow the Lords leading and be obedient. 

 I once heard of a spiritual report card with these grades.  Drinking - 0, Smoking -
0, Cussing - 0, Adultery - 0. Grade point average ZERO! Our report card should
read things like: Mercy - A, Giving - A, Praying - A, Kindness - A.

We are saved by grace not by works but read Ephesians 2:10 " For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." We work because we are saved.

The rest of these verses confirm God's love for us and His promise of eternal
life.  He will never forsake us.  He will guard us, protect us and save us.  We will
dwell with Him forever - eternally - time without end!
