What would Jesus do?

This popular saying came out in the early '80's. Mostly among teenagers.  It suggested that you would decide on your action based on what Jesus would do in those circumstances.  This was a good thing for the youth to be thinking about.  If we are born-again Christians, washed in the blood, new creatures in Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit and we are seeking God's will above our own, it does good to reflect on what Jesus would do.  We can search the Scripture and find similar situations to that which we are facing and see how Jesus handled it.  He is to be our perfect example.  
Unfortunately a lot of people who were not born-again Christians took up the challenge and thought they could be righteous by just modeling themselves after Jesus' life. In effect they were turning over a new leaf in their own strength. Without Christ's indwelling presence, we cannot live a life pleasing to God. Without Christ, we have no relationship with God.  People can lead decent, moral lives on their own but if they have not been forgiven of their sins it is an exercise in futility.  Without Christ they are headed for eternal separation from God.  No matter how good a life you lead, you cannot get into Heaven without being forgiven, washed in the blood and born-again.

John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
1 John 1:8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."
Ephesians 2:8-9" For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
