Seeking God

Jesus is Lord

Jesus speaking
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

The Allstate insurance company call themselves the good hands people.
They tell you your insurance needs are safe in their hands.
Our State law demands us to have car insurance if we drive on the roads and streets.
In the past, the THP has set up check points to check for DUI s and proper licenses, registrations and insurance.
If you are caught without proper insurance they have the right to issue a ticket and tow your car.
But I have Allstate insurance and an insurance card, so as far as insurance goes I am safe in the hands of the Allstate company
Yet if I get careless and bumped into someone and caused damage in which I was responsible my insurance would help with the repairs and injuries. They would help me even in court. They would even act as my advocate.
For a car owner today with lawsuits, accidents etc it would be foolish and illegal not to have insurance, we need a helping hand like Allstate or some other insurance company.

As Christians we have a greater insurance policy,
We have greater hands than Allstate to depend on.
Our insurance policy is eternal with an advocate that has already paid our bill.
.
As Christians we have a Shepherd, a good Shepherd watching over us. Jesus is The Good Shepherd and we are His sheep.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
As a Christian, He is my Good Shepherd and I am one of His sheep.

I am safe in the Father's hand.
Notice in verse 28 we are in the hand of Jesus, in verse 29 we are in the Father's Hand.
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Verse 30 defines Jesus as being God.  ( John 1:1 and John 1:14 )
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Consider what it means to be in the Hand of God.
    There is protection
    There is security
    There is peace
    There is love
    There is no need

All I need is in His hands.
We are joint heirs with Jesus Christ.
We do not have to be beggars, we have been adopted into the royal family of God.
We can go boldly before the throne of Grace.
We can ask in faith believing.
Since we are in His hands we can trust Him to care for us.
If I am in His hand do I need to seek things from the Hand of God?
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
I need to seek the Face of God.
Trust Him for our needs and seek to know Him.

Notice what Jesus says in Matt. 6

Matt.6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Matt.6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matt.6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Matt.6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Matt.6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matt.6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Matt.6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matt.6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matt.6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matt.6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Colossians 3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Remember what He has done for His sheep.
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We can seek the face of God from the protection of God's hand.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
